About the Driver Trainer Role

As a Driver Trainer with J&J Transport Zambia Limited, you will play a vital role in promoting safe driving practices and fostering a healthy workplace culture. You will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training programs, supervising driver candidates, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards. Your expertise will support the continuous improvement of our transportation and safety education initiatives.

Key Responsibilities for Driver Trainer Jobs in Lusaka

• Promote positive and safe driving attitudes and practices among drivers.
• Instruct, supervise, and monitor drivers and trainees throughout all training phases to ensure adherence to program policies.
• Review and recommend updates for instructional materials to maintain program relevance and effectiveness.
• Coordinate and participate in accident and incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and analysis of HSES statistics to support informed management decisions.
• Deliver professional and timely training sessions aligned with truck driver training policies and procedures.
• Evaluate driver candidates on the road and prepare detailed training reports for Operations, HR, and HSES departments.
• Document any potential driver-related issues and collaborate with the HSES Officer to develop and revise safe working procedures.
• Assist in conducting risk assessments and identifying hazards to ensure appropriate controls are in place.

Candidate Requirements

• Education: Relevant driver training certification and experience delivering HSES programs.
• Experience: At least 15 years of cross-border truck driving experience and a minimum of 5 years as a Truck Driver Trainer. Must hold a valid Class DG driver’s license.
• Age: 37 years or older.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, initiative-driven, adaptable to changing work environments, excellent communication and reporting skills.
• Additional Qualifications: Training in accident investigation, strong technical knowledge, and computer literacy.
• Availability: Willingness to work weekends and rotational public holidays as required. Must be a resident of the Lusaka area.
