Africa Personnel Services is seeking a qualified professional for driver trainer jobs in Lusaka. This contract position involves delivering comprehensive driving instruction and education to enhance the skills and safety awareness of drivers within our transport and logistics operations.

About the Driver Trainer Role

As a Driver Trainer, you will develop and conduct practical driving lessons tailored to meet all aspects of vehicle operation and road safety regulations. Your expertise will be essential in preparing drivers for safe and efficient performance, while maintaining accurate progress records and ensuring compliance with company policies.

• Prepare and deliver practical driving lessons covering vehicle functions and road regulations
• Document and report on driver progress and performance regularly
• Report all accidents and incidents promptly to the logistics and workshop manager
• Maintain comprehensive driver training folders and records
• Collaborate with the logistics manager in selecting and onboarding new drivers
• Conduct weekly toolbox meetings to reinforce safety and operational standards
• Provide post-accident behind-the-wheel re-training as needed
• Keep driver training manuals and materials up to date
• Design and facilitate safety meetings in coordination with safety and logistics management
• Lead driving routes and field trips to support practical learning
• Provide daily supervision to assigned drivers to ensure consistent adherence to duties
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the logistics manager

Qualifications and Skills for Driver Trainer Jobs in Lusaka

Candidates must meet the following qualifications and demonstrate the skills necessary to succeed in this role:

• Grade GCE/12 Certificate or equivalent
• Holder of a valid PSV Driving License
• Valid driving license appropriate for the instructional level
• Certified Driving Instructor License or equivalent certification
• Proven experience as a professional driving instructor
• Clean driving record with no recent violations

Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess strong communication and customer service skills, sound judgment, excellent hearing and vision, and good physical condition. The role requires the ability to sit for extended periods and adapt to varying driving conditions.
