Key Responsibilities for Driver Trainer Jobs in Kapiri Mposhi

  • Develop and maintain a high-performance culture through continuous, field-based coaching and driver assessments.
  • Use telematics data and onboard monitoring devices to identify driver behaviour issues and deliver targeted corrective coaching.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on accidents, fuel overconsumption, speeding, and vehicle misuse to improve safety and efficiency.
  • Create and monitor performance improvement plans for underperforming drivers.
  • Carry out practical driver evaluations, route observations, and competency assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, legal regulations, and safe operating procedures.
  • Support accident investigations and translate findings into effective training interventions.
  • Promote fuel-efficient driving techniques and oversee vehicle care and defect reporting.
  • Deliver induction, refresher, and remedial training programs tailored to identified risks.
  • Set measurable performance standards to enhance overall fleet performance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Diploma in Transport & Logistics, Road Transport Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Fleet Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years’ experience operating heavy commercial vehicles.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in driver training, fleet supervision, or performance management.
  • Valid Professional Driver’s License and Defensive Driving Certificate.
  • Additional certifications such as Training of Trainers (TOT), Dangerous Goods handling, or Incident Investigation are advantageous.
