Key Responsibilities for Driver Jobs in Lusaka

• Provide transportation support for Child Path program activities across various service areas.
• Deliver and collect program materials, procurement documents, and supplies between the central office, service area centers, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Assist with logistics for meetings, workshops, training sessions, and community events.
• Coordinate with organizational departments to schedule transport efficiently and timely.
• Ensure all vehicles are equipped with emergency kits and necessary documentation before trips.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and maintenance using approved systems.
• Perform or coordinate routine vehicle maintenance such as oil changes, battery replacements, and refueling.
• Report vehicle faults or damages promptly to the line manager.
• Maintain confidentiality of organizational information and documents.
• Adhere strictly to Child Safeguarding, Data Protection, Health and Safety, and Security policies.
• Report any accidents, injuries, or vehicle damages immediately to supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Valid driver’s license with a minimum of five years’ driving experience in NGO or corporate settings.
• Defensive driving training is an advantage.
• Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
• Familiarity with Lusaka and surrounding districts with the ability to travel to various program locations.
• Strong understanding of traffic rules and commitment to compliance.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; patient, polite, and professional with colleagues, volunteers, sponsors, and program participants.

Digital and Personal Skills

• Proficient in using smartphones and GPS navigation systems.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Teams, are beneficial.
• Effective communication, time management, and planning abilities.
• Customer service orientation with the ability to prioritize multiple transport requests.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, adaptability, and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Self-motivated, compassionate, and passionate about contributing to social causes affecting children and youth.
• Strong team player who values collaboration and organizational values.
