As Coordinator, Dewatering, you will assist the Mining Superintendent by supervising a multi-skilled shift team responsible for the operation, maintenance, construction, and relocation of dewatering infrastructure. This includes managing pit dewatering pumps, dam pontoon pumps, and the flocculation/coagulation areas.

Key Responsibilities for Dewatering Coordinator Jobs in Kalumbila

• Ensure compliance with all statutory, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements, reporting incidents promptly.
• Supervise maintenance, construction, and monitoring activities to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
• Manage safe equipment isolation procedures in accordance with supervisory and legal standards.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the dewatering section.
• Monitor and report on KPIs including maintenance timeliness, water quality compliance with ZEMA regulations, and water buffer levels.
• Conduct accurate and documented shift handovers detailing performance, tasks, equipment status, and priorities.
• Plan and assist with new project layouts and ensure maximum plant availability at all times.
• Collaborate effectively with other disciplines to minimize operational disruptions.
• Identify and rectify safety hazards or report them for follow-up.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and toolbox talks.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• Full Grade 12 certificate.
• Minimum Diploma in a Mechanical field; a degree is advantageous.
• Membership in the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) and registration with the Engineering Registration Board (ERB).
• At least 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in mine dewatering operations or a similar environment.
