About the Role: Debt Collection Officer

As a Debt Collection Officer at Lenderu Lending Solutions, you will play a vital role in managing overdue accounts and minimizing financial losses due to delinquent payments. Your responsibilities will include negotiating repayment arrangements, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations, and supporting the achievement of collection targets. This full-time position requires a proactive approach and excellent communication skills to effectively engage with customers.

Key Responsibilities for Debt Collection Jobs in Lusaka

• Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue payments promptly.
• Engage with debtors through telephone, email, letters, and other communication channels to recover outstanding debts.
• Negotiate payment plans and settlement agreements with customers to facilitate repayment.
• Follow up on broken payment arrangements and persistently manage overdue accounts.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all collection activities and customer interactions.
• Investigate and resolve customer queries related to outstanding balances.
• Review customers’ financial information to assess their repayment capacity.
• Prepare and issue demand notices and collection correspondence as required.
• Escalate accounts to legal action or external collection agencies when necessary.
• Reconcile customer accounts ensuring accuracy of account balances.
• Generate collection reports and provide timely updates to management.
• Ensure strict compliance with company policies, debt collection regulations, and ethical standards.
• Contribute to reducing bad debts and achieving overall collection targets.

Qualifications and Experience

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate with credits in English and Mathematics.
• Diploma or higher qualification in Business Administration, Marketing, Banking and Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 to 3 years’ experience in debt collection, credit control, accounts receivable, or a similar role.
• Solid understanding of debt recovery procedures and collection techniques.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Experience with accounting or debt management software is advantageous.
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure and consistently meet targets.
