Position Overview for Customs Clearance Manager Jobs in Ndola

As the Customs Clearance Manager, you will oversee all customs clearance operations while providing expert support and leadership to the clearance team. The role is based at our Sakania Yard in Ndola and requires a proactive approach to managing compliance, process optimization, and stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage customer documentation and maintain clear communication channels with clients.
• Develop and sustain relationships with official and external agencies, including commodity inspection, maritime authorities, port officials, and government regulatory bodies.
• Lead, mentor, and train the customs clearance operations team, ensuring effective task distribution and adherence to company standards.
• Establish, refine, and monitor customs clearance procedures and compliance systems to minimize operational risks.
• Stay informed on the latest customs, taxation, and regulatory policies, interpreting changes and developing internal strategies accordingly.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Clearing & Forwarding, International Trade, or a related field.
• Minimum of eight years’ experience in customs clearance, including at least three years in a supervisory or management role.
• Possession of relevant certification such as customs declarer qualifications is advantageous.
• Demonstrated strong risk management skills and meticulous attention to operational compliance.
• Exceptional problem-solving abilities with resilience under pressure and capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in office software and customs clearance operating systems.

Additional Requirements

• Residence in Ndola, Kitwe, or nearby areas is mandatory.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
• Sound knowledge of Zambian customs clearance regulations.
• Ability to foster teamwork and build a cohesive operational unit.
