SUNLINE INTERNATIONAL LOGISTICS Zambia is actively recruiting a skilled and detail-oriented Customs Clearance Manager to oversee all customs-related operations at our Chambishi location. This position requires a professional with over three years of practical experience in customs clearance within the logistics industry, including expertise in bonded warehouse management, import/export regulations, and compliance standards.

Position Overview: Customs Clearance Manager Jobs in Chambishi

The successful candidate will lead the customs clearance function, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of import and export shipments. This role involves close collaboration with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and internal teams to maintain compliance and streamline procedures. Experience managing bonded warehouse activities and regulatory adherence is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure prompt and accurate clearance of all import and export shipments in compliance with customs regulations.
• Manage and verify all customs documentation, including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
• Coordinate with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and regulatory bodies to resolve any clearance issues efficiently.
• Work closely with the bonded warehouse manager to guarantee full compliance with customs and bonded warehouse regulations.
• Monitor updates and changes in customs laws, providing timely advice to the business on their implications.
• Collaborate with Operations, Warehousing, Logistics, and Administration departments to optimize clearance workflows.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all customs transactions, ensuring readiness for audits.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for customs clearance and bonded warehouse operations.
• Train and supervise customs clearance staff to uphold high performance standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Clearing and Forwarding or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of managerial experience in customs clearance within a transport and logistics company.
• Proven expertise in managing bonded warehouse operations and understanding their regulatory frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of import/export procedures, HS codes, and customs software systems such as ASYCUDA.
• Familiarity with both local and international customs regulations and trade compliance standards.
• Excellent communication skills for effective engagement with government agencies and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments efficiently under pressure.
• Mandatory: Valid Practicing Certification in Customs or Logistics.
