The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily loan collection operations, minimizing non-performing loans, and actively engaging in sales and client onboarding activities. This role involves frequent field visitations to maintain strong client relationships and ensure compliance with financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities for Credit Collections Officer Jobs in Kitwe

• Collections & Recoveries: Monitor loan portfolios daily to detect arrears or early defaults; initiate professional contact with delinquent clients via telephone, email, and letters; negotiate structured repayment plans aligned with internal policies; rigorously track payment commitments; and execute recovery procedures including collateral repossession where necessary.
• Sales & Client Onboarding: Conduct daily outreach to promote loan products to corporate and individual clients; interview applicants to assess financial needs and business activities; perform preliminary credit assessments and assist with onboarding documentation.
• Field Visitations & Relationship Management: Perform regular visits to client premises for verification during onboarding and recovery visits to defaulting borrowers; maintain professional, respectful communication to uphold the company’s reputation even in challenging recovery situations.
• Reporting & Compliance: Prepare accurate collection and sales performance reports for management; ensure all activities comply with local financial and consumer protection regulations; maintain detailed records of client interactions and recovery actions.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Education: Diploma or Degree in Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, or a related business field is mandatory.
• Legal Knowledge: A certificate or diploma in Law or Legal Studies is a strong advantage, aiding in drafting demand letters, understanding loan contracts, and enforcing collateral.
• Experience: Between 1 and 3 years of practical experience in microfinance, credit collections, loan recoveries, or direct sales within the financial sector.
• Skills: Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities; excellent verbal and written communication; high emotional intelligence with resilience under pressure; analytical skills for evaluating client cash flows; physical fitness and readiness for frequent field visits; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
