Key Responsibilities of the Country Training Manager

• Training Strategy & Execution: Develop and own the annual training plan aligned with sales targets, product launches, and regional priorities. Implement a blended-learning approach combining classroom sessions, field coaching, microlearning, and LMS content.
• Leadership & Team Development: Lead and coach the field training team, including Zonal Training Managers and Regional Mentors. Conduct regular one-on-ones, manage performance, and oversee train-the-trainer programs to maintain consistent quality.
• Performance Management: Ensure country-wide achievement of key performance indicators such as reactivation rates, certified-agent conversion, and training quality standards. Conduct business reviews and spot-checks to address underperformance promptly.
• Data-Driven Insights: Manage training dashboards and analyze sales, repayment, and customer feedback data to identify gaps and optimize team deployment. Provide monthly reports to regional leadership to correlate training impact with business outcomes.
• Commercial Enablement: Lead strategic training initiatives aligned with commercial goals, collaborating with business managers to address skill gaps and delivering specialized certification and sales clinics.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Represent training within the country management team and coordinate closely with Sales, Risk, Operations, Programs, and Marketing to ensure alignment with the broader commercial agenda.

Candidate Profile for Country Training Manager Jobs in Lusaka

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 6 years of experience in sales training, learning and development, or sales management, including a minimum of 3 years managing teams, preferably in solar, electronics, telecoms, FMCG, or agent distribution sectors.
• A proven track record of designing and executing training programs that drive measurable improvements in sales performance.
• Experience managing multi-layered field teams across regions or an entire country.
• Strong technical knowledge of Solar Home Systems, with the ability to demonstrate and troubleshoot basic issues.
• Proficiency with LMS platforms, business intelligence tools such as Looker, and CRM or field applications.
• Commercial acumen to translate business targets into effective training strategies and team scorecards.
• Willingness to travel extensively (60-70%+) across Zambia.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of a Zambian language (Bemba, Nyanja, Tonga, or Lozi) is advantageous.
• A bachelor’s degree is required; certifications in training, facilitation, or instructional design are a strong plus.
