Barrick Lumwana Mining Corporation is seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Superintendent TSF to join our Lumwana Expansion Project Team in Kalumbila, North West Province, Zambia. This full-time role offers an exceptional opportunity to lead the construction of one of the largest Tailings Storage Facilities (TSF) globally, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

About the Role: Construction Superintendent TSF in Kalumbila

Reporting directly to the Construction Lead – LEP, you will oversee the construction of Tailings Storage Facilities (TSF) and Water Storage Facilities (WSF), coordinating multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors to guarantee the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The Lumwana Expansion’s TSF will significantly increase tailings storage capacity to 2 billion tonnes, presenting a landmark project in the mining industry.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Supervising and coordinating daily construction activities to maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards.
• Managing contractors and subcontractors to ensure adherence to project schedules, specifications, and contractual obligations.
• Monitoring construction progress, budgets, resource utilization, and risks, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
• Ensuring full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements, site procedures, and permit systems.
• Reviewing construction drawings, specifications, method statements, and work plans to confirm alignment with approved standards.
• Coordinating interfaces among contractors, operations, engineering, procurement, commissioning teams, surveyors, and quality personnel.
• Implementing quality assurance and quality control processes, including inspections, testing, defect management, commissioning, and project close-out.
• Maintaining accurate construction records, daily reports, and progress documentation.
• Participating in progress meetings and providing updates on safety, quality, schedule, and overall project performance.

Qualifications and Experience Required for Construction Superintendent TSF Jobs in Kalumbila

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Full Grade Twelve School Certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Membership with the Engineering Institution of Zambia.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in mining project execution, including at least 4 years in the construction and delivery of Tailings Storage Facilities (TSF) and Water Storage Facilities (WSF).
• Proven supervisory experience managing contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary construction teams.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic and geotechnical engineering aspects related to TSF construction.
• Familiarity with design and visualization software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
• Experience aligning projects with the “Global Industry Standards on Tailings Management.”
• Valid driver’s license.
