As a Concrete Mixer (Fury) Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the concrete mixer to ensure that materials are properly mixed and delivered according to project requirements. This position demands strict adherence to safety protocols and daily equipment inspections to maintain optimal working conditions and prevent operational faults.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the concrete mixer in line with manufacturer guidelines and company procedures.
• Prepare and mix concrete by loading precise quantities of cement, sand, gravel, water, and other materials as specified.
• Monitor the mixing process to maintain the required consistency and quality.
• Maintain appropriate drum rotation during mixing and discharge phases.
• Manoeuvre and position the mixer safely at loading and discharge points.
• Ensure the discharge area is clear of unauthorized personnel and obstacles.
• Communicate effectively with banksmen, supervisors, and site personnel during operations.
• Conduct thorough daily pre-start inspections, checking all critical components for defects or damage.
• Report any abnormal noises, leaks, or equipment faults immediately.
• Clean and maintain the mixer after use to prevent material buildup and ensure longevity.
• Participate in routine maintenance, lubrication, and servicing tasks.
• Complete all required documentation including inspection sheets and logbooks.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies, wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
• Prevent unauthorized use of equipment and report unsafe conditions promptly.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• Completion of Grade 12 (High School Certificate).
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Valid Concrete Mixer or Heavy Equipment Operator’s permit or equivalent certification.
• At least 1 to 2 years of proven experience operating concrete mixers or similar heavy machinery.
• Experience in loading, mixing, and discharging concrete is advantageous.
• Basic understanding of concrete mixing processes and material handling.
• Knowledge of equipment inspection, cleaning, and basic maintenance procedures.
• Strong awareness of occupational health and safety standards.
• Ability to follow instructions and collaborate with site supervisors and personnel.
• Capable of working in outdoor, industrial, and construction environments.
• Physically fit, responsible, mature, sober, and safety-conscious.
