Key Responsibilities for Communications Officer Jobs in Lusaka
- Communication Strategy & Visibility: Develop and execute a comprehensive communications and visibility strategy tailored to diverse audiences and channels, incorporating ongoing research of sector trends and best practices.
- Content Creation & Distribution: Produce diverse communication materials such as press releases, social media content, project briefs, technical reports, infographics, and success stories. Manage the Forum’s website and social media platforms to ensure content is current and engaging.
- Audience Engagement & Feedback: Collect and analyze feedback from multiple channels, track performance metrics, respond to stakeholder inquiries on social media, and organize public outreach events to promote the Forum’s work.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to EU and donor visibility guidelines, maintain accurate records, prepare regular communications reports, support resource mobilization efforts, and safeguard sensitive information.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of proven experience in communications and advocacy, preferably within the non-profit or development sector.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to tailor content for varied audiences and formats.
- Proficiency in digital communications, including social media management and content creation tools.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing communications strategies.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and build stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent research, analytical, and reporting capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality work under tight deadlines.
- Competence in MS Office Suite and online collaboration platforms.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in network and coalition-building.
- Advocacy and campaign management expertise.
- Knowledge of fundraising and resource mobilization strategies.
- Familiarity with EU branding guidelines.
