This one-year fixed-term internship invites passionate and compassionate recent graduates to join our clinical team and gain invaluable hands-on experience in a supportive mental health rehabilitation setting.

About the Clinical Officer Psychiatry Internship

As a Mental Health Officer Intern, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support clients through comprehensive psychiatric care. This role offers practical exposure to psychiatric assessments, treatment planning, medication administration, and counselling within a reputable rehabilitation centre dedicated to holistic wellness.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and assist in diagnosis and treatment planning
• Support development and review of individualised care plans
• Administer medications and monitor clients’ responses to treatment
• Provide psychoeducation and supportive counselling to clients
• Participate actively in individual and group therapy sessions
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and reporting
• Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care delivery
• Uphold confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards

Candidate Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Clinical Medicine or Mental Health Nursing
• Registered or eligible for registration with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ)
• Demonstrated strong interest in mental health and addiction rehabilitation
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Willingness to learn, collaborate, and contribute effectively within a team
• Compassionate, reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality care
