Role Overview for Civil Works Supervisor Jobs in Kawambwa

The Civil Works Supervisor will oversee all civil construction operations at the project site, including farm infrastructure, factory foundations, buildings, roads, drainage systems, and related structures. You will be responsible for supervising contractors, monitoring progress, enforcing quality control, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This role demands hands-on site management and close coordination with multidisciplinary teams to achieve seamless project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily civil construction activities such as earthworks, concrete works, foundations, roads, and drainage systems.
• Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and technical specifications.
• Monitor contractor performance and enforce adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, site labor, and other project teams including mechanical and electrical divisions.
• Conduct regular inspections to verify workmanship and materials, addressing any quality deviations promptly.
• Maintain detailed site reports, progress logs, and documentation for billing and measurement verification.
• Promote strict adherence to safety protocols, personal protective equipment use, and environmental compliance.
• Assist in resource planning, material availability, cost control, and efficient utilization of manpower and equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant civil construction experience, preferably in industrial, infrastructure, or agro-based projects.
• Experience with large-scale project execution including factory construction and farm development is advantageous.
• Strong technical knowledge of civil construction methods, ability to interpret engineering drawings and BOQs.
• Familiarity with project planning, quantity surveying, billing verification, and proficiency in MS Excel and reporting tools.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise site activities, solve problems, and coordinate teams effectively under remote site conditions.

Preferred Skills and Attributes

• Experience working on factory construction, industrial projects, or large farms.
• Comfort with rural or remote project environments and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Strong attention to detail, quality orientation, and commitment to safety with a zero-incident target.

Working Conditions

This position is primarily based onsite at the Kawambwa project/farm location. It requires extensive supervision and coordination in a field environment. Accommodation and site facilities will be provided according to company policy.
