Key Responsibilities for Civil Engineer Jobs in Lusaka

• Supervise contractors during construction and maintenance to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and project specifications.
• Implement and maintain quality control and certification systems for all construction projects.
• Develop and manage production tracking and reporting systems to monitor project progress.
• Prepare detailed project schedules, activity plans, and cost estimates for in-house developments.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with design drawings and Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
• Ensure strict compliance with company health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Design and enforce inspection and quality assurance procedures aligned with contractual requirements.
• Coordinate activities of contractors and subcontractors across multiple project sites.
• Prepare scopes of work and detailed Bills of Quantities for projects.
• Perform cost analysis and monitor project expenditures to ensure budget adherence.
• Review and update working drawings to reflect “as-built” conditions upon project completion.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• At least 2 years of construction experience, preferably within real estate development projects.

Technical and Site Management Competencies

• Possession of a Professional Engineering (PE) license is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and strong ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Solid understanding of construction materials, methods, and equipment.
• Experience with construction/project management software and scheduling tools.
• Good knowledge of structural design principles and calculations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a strong focus on site safety and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with quality control processes and procedures on construction sites.

Communication and Leadership Skills

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proven leadership skills, including team management, task delegation, and conflict resolution.
• Strong collaboration skills working with architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
