Key Responsibilities for Civil Engineer Jobs in Lusaka

• Supervise contractors during construction and maintenance to ensure strict compliance with safety, quality, and project specifications.
• Establish and maintain quality control and certification systems for ongoing projects.
• Develop and manage production tracking and reporting mechanisms.
• Prepare comprehensive project schedules, activity plans, and cost estimates for in-house assignments.
• Conduct regular site inspections to verify adherence to design drawings and Bills of Quantities.
• Ensure compliance with company health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Design and implement inspection and quality assurance systems aligned with contractual requirements.
• Coordinate contractors and subcontractors across multiple project sites.
• Prepare scopes of work and Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
• Perform cost analysis and monitor project expenditures.
• Review and update working drawings to accurately reflect “as-built” conditions upon project completion.

Candidate Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in construction, preferably within real estate projects.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity.

Technical and Site Management Competencies

• Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and strong ability to interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Extensive knowledge of construction materials, methods, and equipment.
• Experience with construction/project management software and scheduling tools.
• Solid understanding of structural design principles and calculations.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong knowledge of site safety practices and regulatory compliance.
• Familiarity with quality control processes and procedures.

Communication and Leadership Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proven leadership skills with experience in team management, task delegation, and conflict resolution.
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
