The Chamber is preparing to join the international network of British Chambers of Commerce headquartered in London, enhancing its global influence and support for UK business interests.

Role Summary for Chief Executive Jobs in Lusaka

The Chief Executive (CE) will report directly to the BCCZ Board of Directors and be responsible for translating strategic objectives into effective operational delivery. Based in Lusaka with remote work flexibility, the CE will oversee all aspects of the Chamber’s administration, membership growth, advocacy efforts, and stakeholder engagement. This role demands a commercially minded leader with a proven ability to build relationships, drive growth, and ensure organisational sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Organisational Leadership: Develop annual plans aligned with Board strategy, focusing on membership growth, policy influence, financial stewardship, and progress toward international accreditation.
• Membership Services and Growth: Foster strong member relationships, manage communications including social media and newsletters, and coordinate member engagement events.
• Advocacy and Policy: Lead advocacy initiatives addressing trade and investment regulations, liaise with government and regulatory bodies, and prepare policy submissions and public statements.
• Financial and Compliance Management: Oversee budgeting, financial records, and compliance with legal requirements; collaborate with accountants and legal advisors to ensure governance standards.
• External Relations: Maintain close ties with the British High Commission and other key stakeholders; represent the Chamber at senior-level forums and facilitate UK-Zambia business linkages.

Candidate Profile

• Proven management experience in membership organisations, business associations, or related private-sector roles.
• Strong background in advocacy, partnership development, or programme management.
• Established networks within Zambian business, government, and diplomatic circles are advantageous.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a strategic and commercial mindset.
• Proficiency in IT and social media platforms; familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic accounting principles.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
