About the Role: CEO Jobs in Lusaka

The CEO will spearhead strategic leadership and executive management to ensure the institution’s long-term sustainability and profitability. Reporting directly to the Board, the successful candidate will lead the implementation of approved strategies, nurture a high-performance culture, and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders including regulators, shareholders, and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Corporate Governance: Implement Board policies and resolutions, ensure compliance with governance standards, and promote transparency and ethical conduct.
• Strategic Planning: Lead the development and execution of the Strategic Plan, drive innovation, and identify new growth opportunities.
• Operations Management: Oversee efficient delivery of financial products, monitor performance, and optimize resource utilization.
• Credit and Portfolio Management: Supervise credit operations, maintain portfolio quality, and oversee loan recovery efforts.
• Business Development and Marketing: Drive customer acquisition and retention, develop strategic partnerships, and enhance market presence.
• Financial Management: Manage budgeting, financial planning, and ensure sustainable revenue growth and cost control.
• Risk Management and Compliance: Maintain an effective risk framework and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
• Human Capital Management: Foster a results-driven culture, support talent development, and promote positive employee relations.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as the institution’s principal representative, building and maintaining strong external relationships.

Qualifications and Experience

• Full Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with five (5) credits including English Language and Mathematics (ZAQA certified).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Banking, Commerce, Management, Law, or related field (ZAQA certified).
• Master’s Degree (MBA or equivalent) in Business Administration, Finance, Strategic Management, or Leadership is an added advantage.
• Membership in a relevant professional body with a valid practising licence.
• Minimum of ten (10) years’ relevant experience in banking, microfinance, or financial services, including at least five (5) years in senior management or executive leadership roles.
• Proven expertise in strategic leadership, business development, financial management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong knowledge of the microfinance industry and regulatory environment.
• Excellent leadership, governance, decision-making, negotiation, and communication skills.
• High integrity, professionalism, analytical aptitude, and confidentiality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant business systems.
