Position Overview – Buyer Jobs in Lusaka

As a Buyer at Tough Team Investments Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and engaging reliable suppliers, negotiating terms, and maintaining procurement processes that support both internal operations and client projects. Your expertise will contribute to timely delivery, cost savings, and continuous improvement within our supply chain activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and source dependable suppliers for goods and services required by the company and clients.
  • Obtain, compare, and analyze quotations to ensure competitive pricing and value for money.
  • Conduct market research to discover new suppliers, products, pricing trends, and procurement opportunities.
  • Prepare, process, and monitor purchase orders and other procurement documentation accurately.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service agreements with suppliers.
  • Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with suppliers and service providers.
  • Monitor supplier deliveries and proactively resolve any delays or supply challenges.
  • Coordinate procurement activities with internal teams and clients to ensure clear understanding of requirements.
  • Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, reliability, and service delivery.
  • Maintain comprehensive procurement records including supplier databases, quotations, contracts, and purchase orders.
  • Manage urgent and emergency procurement requests with efficiency and professionalism.
  • Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and continuous procurement process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and procurement regulations at all times.
  • Prepare regular procurement reports and updates for management review.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Full Grade 12 Certificate required.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supply, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field.
  • Membership with the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS) is an advantage.
  • 1-2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, sourcing strategies, and supplier management.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • High accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement requests under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain processes.
  • Strong cost awareness and budgeting skills.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Valid driver’s license is an added advantage.
