About the Role: Business Risk Analyst Officer

As a Business Risk Analyst Officer at ZESCO, you will contribute to the development and execution of strategic and annual risk management plans within the Directorate. Your responsibilities will include coordinating risk workshops and training sessions to build risk awareness among staff, developing comprehensive risk management plans for corporate and business units, and collaborating closely with internal stakeholders to implement effective risk mitigation measures.

You will also monitor key risk indicators to identify emerging risks, prepare detailed risk management reports for senior leadership and the Board of Directors, and ensure that ZESCO’s risk management practices remain aligned with current industry trends and regulatory requirements. Promoting a culture of risk awareness through education and open communication will be a key part of your role.

Key Responsibilities for Business Risk Analyst Jobs in Zambia

  • Develop and maintain corporate and business unit risk management plans, including control measures and mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate and facilitate risk workshops and training sessions to enhance staff understanding of risk management.
  • Collaborate with management and staff to ensure comprehensive risk identification and mitigation.
  • Monitor and analyze key risk indicators to detect emerging risks and trends.
  • Prepare and present risk management reports to management, Corporate Leadership, and the Board of Directors.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes affecting risk management.
  • Conduct regular risk audits and assessments to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Promote a risk-aware culture through awareness initiatives and open communication.
  • Engage in professional development and share knowledge gained with colleagues.
  • Represent the Audit and Risk Directorate on project teams and external engagements as delegated.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in a business-related field such as ACCA, CIMA, or CA Zambia.
  • Professional certification in Enterprise Risk Management is an advantage.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in risk management, internal auditing, or external auditing.
