Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities with hotels, restaurants, caterers, hospitality groups, schools, offices, and institutions.
- Target companies regularly purchasing vegetables, food products, consumables, and general supplies.
- Engage purchasing managers, procurement officers, chefs, F&B managers, operations managers, and business owners.
- Schedule and conduct customer visits to present company products and services professionally.
- Prepare quotations and diligently follow up until orders are secured.
- Develop and maintain long-term customer relationships to build a loyal client base.
- Monitor competitors, market prices, and industry trends to stay ahead.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline and provide regular reports on opportunities.
- Convert prospects into paying and recurring customers, delivering measurable new revenue.
Financial and Accounts Management
- Apply strong knowledge of financial management and accounting principles.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Reconcile customer accounts ensuring invoices, payments, credit notes, and balances are accurate.
- Maintain an up-to-date accounts receivable/debtors schedule and monitor outstanding invoices.
- Follow up on overdue payments professionally and firmly, maintaining clear communication with clients.
- Monitor customer credit limits and payment terms, escalating issues when necessary.
- Assist with cash-flow monitoring and update management on expected collections.
- Ensure sales, invoices, and payments are properly documented and recorded.
- Support basic financial reporting and liaise with accountants, auditors, banks, and financial service providers.
Statutory Compliance and Payroll Support
- Maintain a working knowledge of statutory filings and compliance requirements.
- Assist with preparation and submission of routine statutory returns and payments.
- Keep accurate records and documentation for statutory obligations.
- Support monthly payroll preparation and administration, ensuring accuracy of employee payroll records.
- Coordinate with accountants or payroll providers to meet statutory payroll deadlines.
- Help management monitor important financial and statutory deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Business Management, Marketing, Commerce, Procurement, or a related field.
- Registration with a recognized professional body relevant to your qualification or field.
- Proven experience in business development, B2B sales, finance, accounts receivable, or a related commercial role.
- Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles, with demonstrable ability to perform bank and customer account reconciliations.
- Experience in following up and collecting outstanding customer payments.
- Basic knowledge of payroll and statutory filings/compliance.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy.
- Ability to manage confidential financial and employee information with discretion.
- Effective organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Possession of a personal vehicle and valid driver’s license is an advantage, given the role’s requirement for customer visits and business development activities.
