Position Overview: Business Development Officer Jobs in Zambia

The primary objective of the Business Development Officer role is to develop and implement effective strategies that increase loan sales by identifying profitable business opportunities and securing sound business agreements. The successful candidate will play a critical role in expanding market share and enhancing the institution’s presence across new market segments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase market share.
• Expand distribution channels by targeting new sectors and market segments.
• Consistently exceed loan disbursement targets across all product lines.
• Manage and maintain non-performing loans (NPLs) within acceptable limits.
• Ensure loan documentation, review processes, and approvals comply with established guidelines and procedures.
• Build and maintain a robust customer pipeline supported by a structured visitation schedule.
• Identify and nurture new business contacts and networks relevant to business development goals.
• Prepare and submit timely weekly and monthly reports to management.
• Support the achievement of institutional strategic objectives and undertake additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of a Grade 12 certificate and a degree in a business-related field.
• At least one year of sales experience, preferably within the financial sector.
• Self-motivated and a strong team player with excellent communication and relationship management skills.
