Role Overview: Business Development Assistant Jobs in Lusaka

As a Business Development Assistant, you will play a key role in nurturing relationships with prospective clients and guiding them through the entire business development process—from initial contact to deal closure. You will actively identify potential clients, manage the business development pipeline, and engage prospects to understand their needs. Your efforts will help drive the firm’s growth and support our credit products tailored for SMEs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively seek and identify new potential clients aligned with the firm’s SME finance objectives.
  • Maintain and regularly update the business development pipeline to ensure accurate tracking of prospects.
  • Initiate and lead meaningful conversations with prospects to assess their financial needs and requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive presentations and demonstrations of the firm’s credit products and services.
  • Schedule and attend meetings with prospects and stakeholders, occasionally leading meeting agendas and follow-up activities.
  • Support stakeholder management by monitoring corporate event calendars and coordinating team participation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Managing Partner.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • At least one year of relevant work experience, including internships, preferably in business development or customer outreach roles.
  • A diploma in Marketing, Banking and Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Skills and Personal Attributes

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong organizational abilities with keen attention to detail and the capacity to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain strict corporate confidentiality.
