We have exciting opportunities for skilled individuals interested in builder and pest scout jobs in Chiawa Farm. Zambeef specializes in the production, processing, distribution, and retail of a wide range of products including beef, chicken, pork, eggs, dairy, fish, flour, stockfeed, and day-old chicks.

Builder Positions – Chiawa Farm (2 Vacancies)

We seek experienced builders capable of interpreting architectural drawings and performing diverse construction tasks. The successful candidates will contribute to various building activities ensuring quality and safety standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
  • Perform bricklaying, plastering, concreting, tiling, roofing, and other construction tasks.
  • Prepare construction sites by clearing obstacles and setting out work areas.
  • Measure, cut, and assemble materials including wood, metal, and concrete.
  • Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures.
  • Carry out finishing works such as plastering, painting preparation, and basic carpentry.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain tools, machinery, and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Monitor material usage to minimize wastage and report any structural defects or hazards.
  • Adhere strictly to occupational health and safety guidelines at all times.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent in Construction.
  • Valid Trade Test Certificate in Bricklaying.
  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience in general building works.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and drawings.

Attributes and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, tools, and materials.
  • Proficient and safe use of hand and power tools.
  • Familiarity with building codes and safety standards.
  • Basic understanding of structural integrity and measurements.
  • Sound decision-making and effective communication skills.

Pest Scout Role – Chiawa Farm (1 Vacancy)

We are also recruiting a Pest Scout to support crop health monitoring and pest management initiatives. This role involves detailed observation and reporting to assist in maintaining high crop quality and yield.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report and document infestation, infection, and deficiency levels in crops.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of pest control products and strategies.
  • Observe plant growth and behavior in relation to feeding and environmental factors.
  • Verify trends in pest and disease infestations.
  • Coordinate with spray and crop supervisors to ensure timely pest and disease management.
  • Conduct regular field inspections to assess crop health and identify early signs of pest or disease issues.
  • Assist in implementing integrated pest management strategies.
  • Support field trials and research projects aimed at improving crop sustainability and yield.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
  • Certificate or Diploma in General Agriculture.
  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Membership in the Agricultural Institute of Zambia.

Attributes and Skills:

  • Computer literate with relevant agricultural knowledge.
  • Ability to manage workload independently and work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in labor supervision is an advantage.
