Position Overview

As a Brewery Logistics Manager, you will play a critical role in implementing and maintaining AB InBev’s safety standards while managing brewery and regional distribution, fleet and safety, inventory, and warehousing functions. Your leadership will ensure customer service excellence, productivity benchmarks, and cost management aligned with annual targets.
Key Responsibilities for Brewery Logistics Manager Jobs in Ndola
- Fleet & Safety Management: Ensure a safe working environment compliant with Occupational Health and Safety regulations and Road Transport Act. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and quarterly safety reviews to mitigate risks and maintain fleet integrity.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee logistics adherence to quality guidelines, manage stock age and blocked stock to minimize write-offs, collaborating closely with Planning, Sales, and Supply teams.
- Operational Excellence (DPO/VPO): Lead daily, weekly, and monthly operational meetings, standardize processes through SOPs, track KPIs, and apply problem-solving methodologies to improve logistics performance continuously.
- Service Level Management: Maintain strong relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 carriers, coordinate with regional distributors and planning teams to optimize glass return and inventory policies, and manage service level agreements with key stakeholders.
- Cost Control: Drive strict adherence to flexed budgets across delivery, warehouse, fleet, and inventory management. Take accountability for logistics spend including VLC, ZBB, SCOH, and CAPEX, and analyze operational data to enhance efficiency.
- People Leadership: Align shop floor teams with goals and meeting routines, conduct performance reviews, manage talent recruitment and development, and foster a positive industrial relations climate through effective communication and engagement.
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree or higher qualification in Logistics or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ managerial experience in FMCG, distribution, or supply chain planning.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislative requirements and customer service principles.
- Proven credibility within business environments, with familiarity of local market dynamics.
