This role is a key opportunity within the Commercial Division under the Retail Banking – Distribution Department, aimed at advancing the Bank’s strategic vision through effective branch leadership.

Position Overview: Branch Manager Jobs in Kalumbila

The Branch Manager will be responsible for driving branch performance by providing strong sales leadership, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining operational excellence, and managing branch personnel. The successful candidate will ensure the achievement of business targets aligned with Zanaco’s strategic objectives, under the supervision of the Cluster Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full accountability for the branch’s balance sheet, profitability, and financial targets, ensuring alignment with the branch business plan and overall Bank strategy.
• Drive sales performance across various products including deposits, loans and advances, funded accounts, fee and commission income, and Bancassurance.
• Develop and implement branch sales plans, cascade targets to the team, monitor progress, and proactively address any performance gaps.
• Acquire, retain, and grow quality customer relationships across Retail, Preferred, Private, Corporate, and Agricultural segments to support sustainable growth.
• Promote the Customer Value Proposition by educating customers on Zanaco’s products, services, and alternate channels, identifying cross-selling opportunities.
• Maintain high service standards at all customer touchpoints, promptly resolving complaints and escalating issues when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with operational governance, risk management, and regulatory requirements including account opening, KYC, AML, and cash management procedures.
• Oversee branch self-audits, incident reporting, audit issue resolution, and business continuity plans within required timelines.
• Manage branch resources, expenses, security, and physical infrastructure according to Bank policies and budgets.
• Lead, coach, and develop branch staff through clear target setting, performance monitoring, and regular feedback.
• Share expertise and best practices with team members to maintain high standards in sales, service, control, and operations.
• Build and nurture effective relationships with customers, internal stakeholders, external partners, and regulatory bodies.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 with credits in Mathematics, English, and three additional subjects.
• A University Degree in a Business-related field or a relevant qualification from a recognized institution.
• A Diploma in Banking and Finance is an added advantage.
• At least six (6) years of relevant experience in sales, relationship management, or branch banking, preferably within the banking sector.
• Strong knowledge of retail banking products, branch operations, compliance, and customer service standards.
