Key Responsibilities for Automotive Technical Trainer Jobs in Lusaka

  • Conduct comprehensive Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify skill and knowledge gaps among technicians, foremen, and service advisors.
  • Deliver structured training and certification programs tailored for service advisors, front office staff, technicians, and apprentices.
  • Provide on-the-job training (OJT), competency assessments, and performance evaluations to ensure skill development.
  • Design and develop technically accurate, engaging training modules based on TNA findings.
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor detailed training plans aligned with company objectives and business goals.
  • Facilitate technical training sessions for service technicians and after-sales support personnel.
  • Offer expert on-site coaching, mentoring, and practical guidance focusing on advanced vehicle diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Manage training logistics, including preparation and distribution of materials, tools, and resources to ensure effective delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with the After-Sales Technical Department to track dealer technical performance and enhance training effectiveness.
  • Compile training reports and recommend improvements for continuous staff development.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering is essential; a degree in these fields is preferred.
  • Relevant manufacturer instructor and technical certifications.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related automotive technical role, including at least 2 years as an instructor or on-the-job trainer in a technically demanding environment.
  • Experience working within an automotive distributorship is advantageous.
  • Advanced vehicle diagnosing skills are mandatory.
  • Familiarity with new vehicle technologies, including experience with EV, PHEV, and Hybrid vehicles, is a strong plus.
