Key Responsibilities for Auto Mechanic Jobs in Siavonga

• Preventive and Corrective Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance tasks promptly, following company procedures and OEM guidelines to maintain equipment reliability and minimize repeat failures.
• Breakdown Diagnosis and Repair: Accurately diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently to reduce downtime and prevent recurring mechanical breakdowns through consistent inspections.
• Inspection and Condition Monitoring: Identify early signs of wear or failure, complete detailed inspection reports, and replace components proactively to extend equipment lifespan and avoid catastrophic failures.
• Component Overhaul and Replacement: Repair engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension, steering, and drivetrain components with precision, ensuring components fit within specified tolerances and maintaining high repair quality.
• Equipment Reliability and Continuous Improvement: Reduce equipment downtime, control repair costs through proper asset care, and consistently meet reliability targets.
• Teamwork and Communication: Report defects promptly, maintain accurate maintenance records, and collaborate effectively with operators and supervisors to support overall team performance.
• Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Adhere strictly to HSE policies, use personal protective equipment correctly, follow safe work practices, and maintain good housekeeping to prevent environmental incidents.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Trade Certificate or Diploma in Motor Vehicle Mechanics.
• Registered member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia (EIZ).
• Full Grade Twelve (12) Certificate.
• ZAQA certified academic qualifications.
• Minimum of 4 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
• Experience with heavy equipment or fleet maintenance.
• Proficiency in working with hydraulic systems.
• Experience in the FMCG industry is an advantage.
