Position Overview: Auto Mechanic Jobs in Lusaka

This permanent role requires daily hands-on maintenance and repair of Embassy vehicles, ranging from engines and transmissions to electrical, fuel, and brake systems. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and safety of the Embassy’s automotive fleet.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on a variety of vehicles including utility vehicles, trucks, and forklifts.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, fuel, and brake system issues efficiently and accurately.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot vehicle problems.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs and maintenance activities.
• Ensure all vehicles meet safety and operational standards before deployment.

Qualifications and Experience

• Secondary school certificate complemented by vocational automotive training, journeyman mechanic certification, or completion of an apprenticeship program.
• At least two years of professional experience as an automotive mechanic.
• Proficiency in Bemba or Nyanja languages to effectively communicate within the local work environment.
• Demonstrated ability to operate utility vehicles, trucks, and forklifts safely.
• Competency in using diagnostic tools and automotive software for vehicle maintenance and repair.
