Auto Electrician Role – Key Responsibilities and Requirements

The Auto Electrician will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems across our fleet of trucks, forklifts, and service vehicles. This role is critical to maximizing fleet uptime and supporting operational efficiency.

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults in wiring, batteries, alternators, starters, lights, and sensors
• Maintain and troubleshoot ECU systems, GPS trackers, and refrigeration truck electrical components
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles
• Install vehicle accessories such as radios, alarms, and other electrical devices
• Interpret electrical diagrams and utilize diagnostic tools effectively
• Maintain accurate job cards and spare parts records; report significant breakdowns promptly
• Adhere strictly to safety standards and maintain workshop cleanliness

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma in Auto Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an auto electrician, preferably within FMCG, transport, or logistics sectors
• Experience with trucks, refrigerated trucks, and heavy-duty vehicles is highly advantageous

Key Skills:

• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding capabilities
• Knowledge of 12V/24V electrical systems, CAN bus networks, and diagnostic procedures
• Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
• Team-oriented with a valid driver’s license considered an asset

Auto Mechanic Position – Essential Duties and Qualifications

The Auto Mechanic will provide comprehensive servicing, repair, and maintenance for company vehicles and equipment, ensuring safe and dependable fleet operations.

• Conduct engine overhauls and repairs on gearboxes, clutches, brakes, suspensions, and other mechanical components
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and thorough vehicle inspections
• Diagnose mechanical faults and recommend corrective measures
• Service forklifts, trucks, and light vehicles efficiently
• Follow workshop safety procedures and ensure proper use of tools
• Maintain detailed service records and monitor spare parts consumption
• Provide support for breakdowns and roadside repairs as needed

Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
• At least 5 years’ experience as an auto mechanic within transport, logistics, or FMCG environments
• Experience working with diesel engines, trucks, and refrigeration units is preferred

Key Skills:

• Practical experience with engine diagnostics and servicing heavy-duty vehicles
• Ability to interpret technical and workshop manuals accurately
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills
• Valid driver’s license is an advantage
