About the Auto Electrician Role in Kitwe

As an auto electrician with Overland Transport Management Limited, you will be responsible for maintaining the operational condition of our fleet of heavy trucks and trailers. Your expertise will help reduce downtime and extend the life of our vehicles through thorough inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Listen carefully to driver reports and conduct detailed vehicle inspections to identify faults.
• Diagnose and repair engine failures, mechanical malfunctions, and electrical issues.
• Replace damaged parts and components to restore vehicle functionality.
• Verify vehicle serviceability and maintain accurate service records for management review.
• Advise managers on necessary repairs and prioritize their urgency.
• Collaborate with other mechanics on complex problems and coordinate with departments to order required parts.
• Perform both mechanical and electrical repairs related to diagnosed faults.
• Complete maintenance tasks efficiently to ensure organization and vehicle readiness.

Qualifications and Skills Required

• High school certificate along with a recognized auto electrical qualification.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electronic systems in heavy trucks and trailers.
• Experience working with Shacman/Sinotruk and Henred vehicles is highly advantageous.
• Exceptional attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols during preventative maintenance.
• Proficient in operating electrical diagnostic equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities to tackle complex mechanical and electrical issues.
• Good communication skills to effectively report and advise on vehicle conditions.
