As an Assistant Solar Project Engineer, you will support the successful delivery of solar PV projects by managing schedules, budgets, and stakeholder communication. You will act as a key liaison among clients, contractors, engineers, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle—from entitlement and design to execution and closeout. This position demands accountability for meeting project milestones on time and within budget, safeguarding both value and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize solar system layouts to maximize energy output and cost-efficiency.
- Conduct shading analyses and evaluate site suitability for solar installations.
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and monitoring project milestones and costs.
- Coordinate daily administrative and operational solar programming activities.
- Collect, organize, and maintain all required project documentation.
- Develop bills of materials for project sites and conduct detailed site surveys.
- Modify solar PV system designs to comply with client requirements, local codes, and industry standards.
- Prepare and submit permit applications, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with regulatory authorities to secure necessary approvals.
- Support quality control procedures and conduct inspections to ensure system integrity and safety.
- Provide technical guidance to installation teams and troubleshoot issues during setup.
- Manage manpower and ensure smooth project execution until handover.
- Promote adherence to safety protocols throughout all project phases.
Candidate Profile and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in renewable energy engineering, with hands-on exposure to solar and hydro projects.
- Proven skills in project coordination, stakeholder management, and strategic planning.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy policies, regulations, and market trends.
- Professional certification in project management or energy policy is advantageous.
- Passion for renewable energy and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, interpersonal, and project management skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Certifications or licenses in renewable energy or engineering are highly valued.
