Position Overview

Reporting directly to the Director/General Manager, the Assistant Logistician will serve as a vital link between clients and internal teams, ensuring smooth communication and efficient handling of shipments, deliveries, and logistics updates. This role requires proactive problem-solving and strong organizational skills to maintain high customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities for Assistant Logistician Jobs in Lusaka

• Act as the primary contact for clients regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and logistics updates.
• Provide timely and accurate information about shipment delays and coordinate solutions to potential disruptions, including border delays.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by handling inquiries, complaints, and claims professionally and promptly.
• Collaborate with transport, warehouse, and finance teams to resolve customer issues efficiently.
• Ensure all deliveries are accompanied by valid and complete proof of delivery (POD), including timely follow-up on missing PODs.
• Monitor and track shipments using GPS technology to provide real-time location updates.
• Manage all border documentation and assist with announcements and price negotiations when necessary.
• Support office logistics by maintaining supplies for drivers and administrative staff, and overseeing office cleanliness schedules.

Qualifications and Skills

• Diploma or degree in transport and logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
• 1 to 3 years of practical experience in logistics operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage difficult client interactions calmly and professionally.
• Strong attention to detail, responsiveness, and emotional intelligence.
• Proven negotiation skills and effective stakeholder management.
• Ability to coordinate and plan logistics activities efficiently.
