About the Role

The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Food & Beverage Manager to oversee daily operations across all dining outlets including restaurants, bars, lounges, banqueting, and in-room dining. This position demands leadership that ensures operational excellence, financial discipline, and superior service standards, all contributing to an outstanding guest experience.

Key Responsibilities for Assistant Food & Beverage Manager Jobs in Livingstone

• Assist in developing and executing strategic and operational plans for the Food & Beverage department.
• Help manage the annual departmental budget and contribute to revenue and profitability goals.
• Oversee daily operations ensuring compliance with brand standards and seamless coordination among Service, Culinary, Stewarding, and Purchasing teams.
• Lead visible service excellence during operational hours and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor financial performance including sales, labour costs, and inventory management to maximize profitability.
• Engage with guests to deliver personalised dining experiences and promptly resolve any concerns.
• Support menu planning and beverage programme development in collaboration with the Food & Beverage Manager and Executive Chef.
• Promote Food & Beverage outlets through active business development, event support, and marketing collaboration.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field.
• Full Grade 12 Certificate certified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
• WSET or equivalent wine certification and Food Safety/HACCP certification.
• Minimum 4 to 6 years of experience in Food & Beverage operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role within a luxury hotel, resort, or international hospitality brand.
• Proven experience managing multiple Food & Beverage outlets and familiarity with POS and inventory management systems.
