Key Responsibilities for Assistant Accountant Revenue Jobs in Lusaka

• Analyse, reconcile, and report MTN Zambia’s revenue and direct costs in compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
• Perform daily and monthly revenue analysis, identifying trends, variances, and exceptions.
• Prepare and post monthly revenue journals to the general ledger within reporting deadlines.
• Reconcile billing systems, sub-ledgers, and the general ledger, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Conduct month-on-month and budget variance analysis, providing clear explanations for management review.
• Reconcile interconnect and roaming revenues against traffic and billing data, reporting any discrepancies.
• Support accounts receivable reviews, including debtor ageing analysis and initial provisioning for doubtful debts.
• Validate enterprise customer contracts and invoices to ensure accuracy and timely billing.
• Ensure revenue recognition and cost of sales comply with MTN Group policies and IFRS standards.
• Assist with audit processes, system integrity checks, and process improvements to enhance revenue assurance and reporting accuracy.

Candidate Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate with at least five credits, including English and Mathematics.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a relevant professional qualification (ZICA, CIMA Managerial, ACCA Level 2, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a finance environment, with at least 2 years focused on financial or revenue reporting.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and handling high-volume financial data.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/IAS, revenue recognition, and financial reporting standards.
• Experience in telecommunications or a highly regulated industry is an advantage.
