Key Responsibilities for Artisan HER Jobs in Solwezi

• Perform inspections and testing of vehicles to ensure equipment availability.
• Conduct preventive maintenance including engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotations, wheel balancing, and filter replacements.
• Maintain vehicle functionality by addressing operator complaints, repairing engine failures, mechanical and electrical malfunctions, and body damage.
• Verify vehicle serviceability through test drives and system adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
• Maintain vehicle appearance via cleaning, washing, and painting.
• Record all service and repair activities accurately.
• Operate and maintain shop equipment, troubleshooting breakdowns and managing supplies.
• Manage costs by utilizing warranties and evaluating service and parts options.
• Maintain inventory by ordering and verifying supplies.
• Stay current with technical knowledge through educational opportunities and technical publications.
• Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for direct reports, with a focus on Zambian employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Completion of Grade 12 (Grade Twelve certificate).
• Craft Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repair (HER) from a recognized institution.
• Valid ZAQA Certification.
• Class C Driver’s License.
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a similar role within a mining environment.
• Hands-on experience working with ancillary equipment such as dozers and graders.
