About the Role: Applications Support Officer Jobs in Lusaka

As an Applications Support Officer at AB Bank, you will play a critical role in managing and supporting key databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server. You will provide technical support across multiple operating systems such as Windows, Linux, and MacOS, ensuring smooth operation of enterprise applications.

Your responsibilities will also extend to containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes, managing source code repositories with Git, and supporting continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. Ensuring compliance with ICT governance and security standards such as ISO 27001/27002, COBIT, and ITIL will be a fundamental part of your duties.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server.
Provide user support across Windows, Linux, and MacOS platforms.
Assist with container orchestration tools including Docker and Kubernetes.
Work with RESTful APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Oversee source code management using Git and support CI/CD deployment workflows.
Ensure adherence to ICT governance and security frameworks such as ISO 27001/27002, COBIT, and ITIL.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Software Development, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in applications support or related IT roles.
ZAQA certification is mandatory.
Demonstrated expertise with Windows, Linux, and MacOS environments.
Proficiency in front-end technologies such as JavaScript, React, and Angular.
Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Knowledge of enterprise applications including core banking, ERP, mobile and online banking systems.
Strong hardware troubleshooting skills.
Excellent customer service orientation and ability to align with organizational objectives.
