Key Responsibilities for Aircon Technician Jobs in Livingstone

• Ensure all air conditioning units operate efficiently and effectively to maintain guest comfort.
• Perform preventive maintenance tasks according to the hotel’s maintenance schedule.
• Conduct regular inspections and assist with the installation of new air conditioning systems.
• Maintain and properly store all tools and equipment provided by the hotel.
• Clean work areas thoroughly after completing maintenance or repairs.
• Follow all safety procedures diligently during all tasks.
• Communicate effectively with the Shift Leader and other team members to coordinate work.
• Participate actively in the hotel’s energy conservation initiatives and promote environmentally friendly products.
• Suggest cost-saving ideas across departments, contributing to operational efficiency.
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance activities and repairs performed.
• Stay informed about the latest air conditioning technologies and energy-efficient practices.

Qualifications and Experience Required

• Certificate in Airconditioning or a relevant HVAC qualification.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in air conditioning installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Valid work permit or eligibility to work in Zambia.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Preferred Skills and Additional Requirements

• Additional certifications in refrigeration, electrical systems, or related fields.
• Experience in hotel or hospitality environments.
• Knowledge of energy-efficient HVAC technologies and green practices.
• Familiarity with building management systems (BMS).
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
• Understanding of occupational health and safety standards.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
• Customer-focused approach with a professional demeanor.

Physical and Other Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 25 kg.
• Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions including heat, cold, and humidity.
• Capable of standing, walking, and climbing ladders for extended periods.
• Possession of a full Grade 12 Certificate.
• ZAQUA Certification is mandatory.
