About the Role

Based in Kitwe, Copperbelt, Zambia, this full-time, permanent position reports directly to the Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Manager. The Advisor will be responsible for designing, implementing, and sustaining the IMS to ensure compliance with industry regulations, enhance SHEQ performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities for Advisor Safety Health Environment Quality Jobs Kitwe

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the IMS aligned with ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure IMS processes meet regulatory, customer, and strategic requirements.
  • Identify, document, and monitor IMS processes to maintain effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Establish and manage the IMS internal audit programme, conduct audits, and coordinate external audits ensuring compliance with Company policies and Good International Industry Practices (GIIP).
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions based on audit findings and system reviews.
  • Maintain up-to-date IMS documentation, including policies, procedures, work instructions, and templates to support clear operational frameworks.
  • Prepare detailed reports on IMS performance metrics and facilitate management reviews to continually enhance system effectiveness.
  • Provide training and promote awareness of IMS responsibilities throughout the organisation.
  • Stay informed on changes to relevant standards, legislation, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Communicate IMS status and developments to management and other stakeholders effectively.
  • Support strategic planning and implementation of actions to achieve SHEQ objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Essential: Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
  • Desirable: Certification in SHEQ management systems based on ISO standards, including lead auditor training for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience managing SHEQ systems.
