About the Role: Admin Clerk Receptionist Jobs in Lusaka

As an Admin Clerk/Receptionist, you will be responsible for managing reception duties and supporting pre-analytical laboratory processes. Your role will involve sorting and distributing samples, processing registrations, handling customer queries, and ensuring timely dispatch of specimens. You will also manage cash transactions and maintain a professional reception area, providing excellent service to clients and medical professionals alike.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort and distribute samples according to standard operating procedures, ensuring correct prioritisation to various laboratories and sites.
  • Register samples (“logging”) and handle related queries following prescribed procedures.
  • Dispatch specimens for processing and monitor progress, including filing reports and managing report delivery within turnaround times.
  • Conduct hospital rounds to distribute reports and collect samples in line with relevant protocols.
  • Manage administrative queries and customer complaints, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Track sample delivery progress by couriers to ensure specimens are received, processed, and results returned promptly.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks in pre-analytical laboratory processes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and prepare equipment within your working area according to SOPs.
  • Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and deliver materials to doctors’ rooms as required.
  • Represent Cerba Lancet Zambia by delivering professional, ethical customer care in the medical pathology field.
  • Manage the reception area, provide relevant information, and direct clients to appropriate departments.
  • Receive cash payments from patients and ensure proper banking in line with procedures.
  • Report incidents, log customer complaints, and update the laboratory information management system as per organisational policies.
  • Adhere strictly to Cerba Lancet uniform protocols and standard operating procedures.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience working in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience handling cash and operating point-of-care machines.
  • Proficient in data entry and computer literate.
  • Strong communication skills with excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Customer-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining confidentiality and attention to detail.
