Position Overview: Accounts Payables Supervisor Jobs in Lusaka
Reporting as an Assistant Manager, the Accounts Payables Supervisor will oversee the end-to-end management of the Accounts Payable (AP) and Payments Held Desk teams. The primary objective is to maintain timely vendor payments, uphold accurate balance sheet health, and ensure smooth business operations without disruption due to payment delays.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Accounts Payable and Payments Held Desk teams, maintaining daily performance tracking and providing constructive feedback.
- Ensure all vendor payment terms are accurately updated in the ERP system, with monthly reviews and documented sign-offs.
- Verify and maintain up-to-date, attested bank details for all vendors, ensuring proper audit trails by uploading PDF bank attestation forms into the ERP.
- Monitor vendor payments daily and proactively resolve any invoices at risk of delayed payment.
- Collaborate closely with Supply Chain Management to address and resolve issues affecting vendor management processes, maintaining clear tracking of pending matters.
- Respond to departmental payment inquiries within one business day to ensure timely resolution.
- Conduct accurate and timely reconciliations of AP, accrual, vendor, and clearing accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly in line with company guidelines.
- Manage accounting and settlement of channel partner invoices, Input VAT, and withholding tax obligations, coordinating closely with the Tax Team for accurate reporting.
- Oversee proactive management of AP transactions including daily monitoring, timely invoice processing, accrual closure, payment tracking, and quarterly vendor compliance sign-offs.
- Ensure compliance with AP governance through timely intercompany confirmations, authorized payment processing, completed reconciliations, document retention, and accurate monthly reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
- Accounting degree required.
- Fully qualified accountant with ZICA (CA), ACCA, or CIMA certification.
- Strong proficiency in accounting principles, IFRS, and relevant accounting applications.
- Business acumen with excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- 8 to 10 years of finance experience, preferably within the telecommunications sector.
- Proficiency in Oracle applications is essential.
- Exceptional attention to detail, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach.
