Role Overview for Accounts Clerk Jobs in Lusaka
As an Accounts Clerk, you will support the firm’s daily financial activities by managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing invoices, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting. Maintaining confidentiality of financial and client information is paramount, alongside adherence to the firm’s internal policies and statutory obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently.
- Record financial transactions and prepare payment vouchers, receipts, and journal entries.
- Reconcile bank accounts, cash books, and petty cash accurately.
- Prepare client invoices, monitor outstanding balances, and assist with debt collection.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate financial records and documentation.
- Manage client trust account transactions and perform reconciliations where applicable.
- Assist with payroll processing and statutory deductions.
- Support the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and audits.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory obligations, and firm policies.
- Assist with procurement, supplier payments, and other finance-related administrative duties.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ZICA Technician is an advantage.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Experience within a law firm or professional services environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
