About the Head Accountant Role

The Head Accountant will be responsible for managing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, and regulatory compliance. This role requires overseeing cash-flow management, inventory accounting, and supervising the accounting team to deliver timely and precise financial information to support senior management decisions.

Key Responsibilities for Accountant Jobs in Ndola

• Manage daily accounting and financial operations, including the general ledger and month-end/year-end closing procedures.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with accuracy and compliance.
• Perform bank, cash, inventory, supplier, and customer reconciliations.
• Develop and monitor annual budgets, analyzing variances and operational performance.
• Prepare cash-flow forecasts and monitor working capital to ensure financial stability.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or ZICA (full or partial) are preferred.
• Minimum of five years’ relevant accounting experience, ideally including supervisory or senior roles.
• Strong expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, and internal controls.
• Good knowledge of Zambian tax laws and statutory reporting requirements.
• Experience in inventory accounting and cost control is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and recognized accounting software.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
• High integrity, confidentiality, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
