Camco Equipment Zambia Limited is now recruiting an Accountant to support its growing financial operations.

Position Summary – Accountant

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for managing the preparation and coordination of accurate financial statements and reports in compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), statutory requirements, and corporate policies. This role is critical to ensuring sound financial management and supporting strategic decision-making within the company.

Key Responsibilities for Accountant Jobs in Lusaka

• Prepare, review, and consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and regulatory standards.
• Ensure accurate recording of financial transactions in the general ledger and prepare management accounts with variance analyses.
• Assist in budgeting processes, monitor budget performance, and provide analytical support for departmental financial evaluation.
• Supervise reconciliation of general ledger, bank, and control accounts; ensure timely financial period closure.
• Facilitate internal and external audits by preparing schedules and addressing audit queries.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and monitor inventory valuation and reconciliation.
• Oversee payroll accounting, ensure timely statutory remittances, and maintain accurate payroll records.
• Identify financial risks and recommend controls; support automation and digitalisation of financial processes.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, promote team development, and ensure compliance with company SOPs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Full professional accounting qualification such as CA Zambia, ACCA, ZICA, CIMA, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in financial reporting, including at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Registered member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial accounting standards, and public finance regulations.
• Proficiency in Odoo ERP/accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Integrity, professionalism, and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
