About the Role – Accountant Jobs in Lusaka

The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the financial operations related to our fuel transport and tanker fleet activities. This full-time position demands a deep understanding of accounting practices specific to petroleum logistics, including fleet costing, transport reconciliations, and multi-currency transactions. Candidates without relevant industry experience in fuel distribution or petroleum logistics will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting and financial records for the company’s fuel logistics operations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and comprehensive financial reports.
• Monitor and analyze fleet income, expenses, and trip profitability.
• Conduct detailed trip-by-trip financial reconciliations.
• Reconcile customer invoicing and supplier payments efficiently.
• Manage accounts receivable and payable to ensure timely transactions.
• Develop budgets, cash flow projections, and financial forecasts.
• Ensure full compliance with tax regulations, VAT, and statutory returns.
• Provide financial analysis and decision-making support to management.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• At least three years of accounting experience within a fuel transport or petroleum logistics company.
• Strong expertise in fuel transportation accounting, fleet costing, and transport reconciliations.
• Knowledge of ERB transport rates and fuel logistics operations.
• Experience with multi-currency accounting (ZMW and USD).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant accounting software.
• High integrity, accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines.
