Key Responsibilities for Accountant Jobs in Kitwe

• Manage daily accounting and financial transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
• Operate the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) tax system independently, ensuring compliance.
• Administer VAT, PAYE, WHT, and other tax-related processes in accordance with Zambian regulations.
• Prepare and maintain employee contracts and personnel records systematically.
• Calculate monthly payroll, including salaries and statutory deductions.
• Ensure compliance with statutory employee-related contributions and regulatory requirements.
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain comprehensive accounting records.
• Prepare monthly financial reports supported by accurate documentation.
• Support internal and external audits and assist with additional finance and administrative functions as needed.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, ideally within a similar industry.
• Strong knowledge of the ZRA tax system and Zambian taxation procedures.
• Experience in payroll processing and employee contract management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to manage complex financial data.
• Demonstrated responsibility, integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
