Position Overview: Academic Coordinator – Postgraduate Studies

As the Academic Coordinator for Postgraduate Studies, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the administration and smooth delivery of all postgraduate programs. This full-time position requires a dynamic individual capable of managing multiple academic processes while ensuring compliance with university policies and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities for Academic Coordinator Jobs in Lusaka

  • Coordinate the administration and delivery of postgraduate programs, ensuring effective scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Support postgraduate admissions, registration, examinations, and monitor student progression to maintain academic standards.
  • Manage the coordination of research proposals, dissertations, and viva voce examinations.
  • Ensure strict compliance with University policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Provide administrative assistance for curriculum development, quality assurance processes, and program accreditation.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and maintain accurate postgraduate academic records.

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • A master’s degree from a recognised institution is essential; possession of a PhD will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in higher education, preferably involving postgraduate program administration or academic coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of postgraduate academic processes and quality assurance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with academic staff and students.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • All academic and professional qualifications must be validated by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).
