We are currently recruiting for two key full-time positions at our Lusaka campus: IT Lecturer and Chief Librarian. These roles offer dynamic responsibilities in teaching, research, leadership, and academic administration within a forward-thinking university environment.
IT Lecturer
The IT Lecturer will play a vital role in delivering Information Technology education, mentoring students, and contributing to curriculum development and research initiatives. This position also involves participation in departmental and university administration as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver lectures and practical laboratory sessions in Information Technology
- Assess and mentor students to support academic success
- Develop and update course materials aligned with current industry standards
- Participate in research and contribute to curriculum enhancement
- Undertake administrative duties as assigned by the Head of Department or Dean
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field
- Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related specialization
- Minimum of three years teaching experience at a recognized higher education institution
- Experience in student supervision and academic mentoring is advantageous
- At least one peer-reviewed publication in a recognized academic journal is preferred
Chief Librarian
The Chief Librarian will provide strategic leadership for the university’s library services, ensuring effective support for teaching, learning, and research. This senior role includes managing library resources, staff, budgets, and digital systems, while fostering academic excellence and information literacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of university library operations and services
- Oversee library staff, budgets, and digital resource management
- Promote information literacy and support academic research initiatives
- Contribute to institutional planning and administrative functions
- Perform additional duties as assigned by university management
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science or Library and Information Systems from a reputable university
- Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science or related field
- PhD or Doctorate in Library and Information Science is an added advantage
- Minimum of five years’ experience in senior library management roles
- At least five peer-reviewed publications in recognized journals
- Proven leadership, strategic planning, and administrative skills within higher education
