Key Responsibilities for Business Development Officer Jobs in Lusaka
- Business Growth and Market Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities and markets; conduct market research and competitor analysis to spot emerging trends; recommend innovative products and services aligned with client needs; maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities.
- Tender and Proposal Management: Monitor Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Quotations (RFQs), and Expressions of Interest (EOIs); lead preparation and submission of high-quality bids and proposals; collaborate with technical, operational, and financial teams to develop compelling submissions; ensure accuracy and timely delivery of all documents.
- Stakeholder and Client Engagement: Build and nurture relationships with existing and potential clients; establish strategic partnerships to enhance business prospects; support presentations, negotiations, and contract initiation; drive repeat business through effective client management.
- Proposal and Knowledge Management: Maintain updated company profiles, proposal templates, and standard bid content; track tender outcomes and provide regular reports on business development activities and success rates.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, Economics, Public Relations, Commerce, or a related field.
- Valid Driver’s Licence.
- Experience in business development, sales, marketing, or tender management is advantageous.
